While Raffaello’s heart has always belonged to fine art, his journey also led him into the world of commercial artistry. At 19, he became Canada’s youngest Provincial Hairdressing Competition Champion and opened his Toronto salon, RAFFAELLO, at just 21. The salon garnered international acclaim, blending his eye for beauty and detail with his artistic sensibility.
Despite the acclaim of his salon, Raffaello’s heart remained tethered to fine art. With the success of his craft allowing him the freedom to explore, he journeyed across Europe, immersing himself in the masterpieces that shaped the world of art. “Subsequent with a successful business subsidizing my passion, I maintained an independent perspective as an artist,” he explains.
As a 19-year-old teenager, he spent 3 weeks visiting iconic galleries and museums, studying the works of the Old Masters with reverence, absorbing their technique and philosophy.
A Vision of Innovation
Raffaello’s curiosity has always driven him to explore the intersections of art, science, and philosophy. His embrace of digital art opened a new realm of possibilities, leading to the celebration of the year 2000, titling his exhibition as The Magic of the Electron, a groundbreaking exhibition celebrating the interplay of technology and creativity of the unknown.
In every medium he touches, Raffaello invites viewers to step beyond the ordinary and connect with the mysteries of existence. His work is a celebration of love, beauty, and the limitless capacity of the human imagination.
Raffaello’s artistic spirit is not confined to his work; it is a legacy he shares with his family. Married to the love of his life, he is a devoted father and grandfather. His children, inspired by his example, have become internationally acclaimed hair designers, carrying forward the creative fire that burns within their family.
Through his art, Raffaello Marrello continues to inspire and provoke thought, inviting us to explore the boundless possibilities of the universe and ourselves.
